MWS acquires Germany-based specialist in logistics and oil exchange, Lonsdorfer

Muehlhan Wind Service (MWS) today announces the acquisition of the Germany-based specialist in logistics and oil exchange, Peter Lonsdorfer GmbH & Co. KG (known as Lonsdorfer).

The acquisition brings specialized transport capabilities into MWS’s service portfolio, while also expanding its global offering of onshore and offshore oil exchange services.

Based in Husum, Germany, Lonsdorfer is renowned for its fleet of over 45 specialized trucks and trailers capable of transporting loads of up to 60 tonnes under tarpaulin. Annually, Lonsdorfer transports more than 1,500 wind turbine gearboxes across Europe.

“Becoming part of Muehlhan Wind Service marks an exciting new chapter for Lonsdorfer. As a family-run business with deep roots in the German wind industry, we are proud of what we have built over the years. Joining a larger global organization allows us to take our expertise even further, while continuing to deliver the high-quality services our customers rely on”, says Maren Lege-Thomsen, Managing Director, Lonsdorfer.

“Partnering with Muehlhan Wind Service ensures continuity for our business and creates new opportunities for growth. We are confident that this step will benefit both our customers and employees, thanks to our shared focus on quality, safety, and long-term commitment to the wind industry”, says Malte Jessen, Managing Partner, Lonsdorfer.

“We’re pleased to welcome Lonsdorfer to the MWS family. Their decades of experience in specialized transport — particularly of gearboxes — as well as in onshore and offshore oil exchange, are a valuable addition to our Major Components Exchange business unit and a natural extension of our existing Oil Exchange services. This enables us to better support current and potential customers in Germany and surrounding European markets such as France, Poland, and Scandinavia, while also strengthening our relationships. And ultimately, it’s a great cultural fit”, says Søren Høffer, CEO, Muehlhan Wind Service.
