Securing HKN contract

Muehlhan Wind Service (MWS) successfully secured their second full scope pre-assembly contract for HKN (Hollandse Kust Noord) from Siemens Gamesa. The offshore site is 18km off the coast of Egmond aan Zee in the Netherlands. HKN was constructed by CrossWind, a joint venture of Shell and Eneco.

Our role and project details

We were responsible for mechanical and electrical pre-assembly work, crane/lifting operations, and the complete ground transportation of nacelles, blades, and towers at the marshalling harbour. The project consisted of 69 wind turbines, (SG 11-200 DD) with a total of 759MW capacity.

Execution of pre-assembly work

All pre-assembly work was executed from the marshalling harbour at the port of Eemshaven in the province of Groningen. MWS executed this project with over 100 staff members based at the site.

Director’s statement

Director Carsten Nielsen, Business Development Director at Muehlhan Wind Service, stated: “MWS are honoured to be part of Hollandse Kust Noord. Our pre-assembly portfolio continues to expand, and we are thrilled to continue to strengthen our presence within the Dutch market and collaborate with SGRE for this large-scale project.”
