Muehlhan wins USD 28.6 mil bridge project in San Francisco Bay

The Muehlhan Group has been awarded a contract to repaint portions of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge for the California Department of Transportation.

This bridge was first opened to traffic in 1956, is 8.5 kilometers long and crosses the San Francisco Bay, connecting the cities of Richmond and San Rafael. The bridge has two decks; the upper deck carries west bound traffic, the lower deck carries east bound traffic. The scope of work included in the contract is to repaint the structural steel that supports the lower deck on 36 spans of the bridge. Each span is 88 meters long. The contract value is USD 28.6 mil.

Work on the project will start this fall and complete in approximately three years.
