Mo Achahbar, Calculator and scaffold engineer, 13 years at Muehlhan Netherlands

Hello

I’m Mo, and I work as a calculator and scaffold engineer for the Muehlhan scaffolding department. I have been in the scaffolding business for almost 29 years, with 15 years of experience as a scaffolder. Over the years, I have taken various training programs and engaged in self-study to advance my career. As a result, I transitioned from being a scaffolder to being a telecom engineer. However, in 2010, I got the opportunity to work as a scaffold engineer at Muehlhan, and I have been working in this multifaceted role ever since.

Why Muehlhan?

I enjoy working on challenging projects, which is why I love my job as a calculator and engineer at Muehlhan. This job provides me with the opportunity to be a part of diverse and complex projects in the industry, which makes my work interesting and stimulating. Calculating and engineering projects come with a high level of responsibility, which allows me to work autonomously and make a significant impact. My job responsibilities include drawing and calculating, as well as acquisition and project management. and project management responsibilities.

Favorite project

I have worked on several projects over the years, and it’s difficult to choose a favorite. However, I’ve had the privilege of calculating, designing, and overseeing the construction of various bridges. Here are a few of my favorites:

Merwedebrug

The government commissioned urgent repairs on the Merwede Bridge which was on the brink of collapse. Within nine weeks, we dismantled and reassembled all scaffolding with 32,000 man-hours and zero accidents.

Galecopperbrug

I have had the opportunity to provide scaffolding for the Galecopper Bridge three times in my career. It’s rewarding to be selected again to carry out the work on something you’ve already been involved in.
